Welcome to Room 3's webpage :)

We've had a very exciting time in Room 3. We have been watching our caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies! We really enjoyed having them to visit our classroom and were sad to let them go but we know they were headed off on a new adventure.

During April the boys had fun taking care of our furry little friends at the Vets :) and we had a teddy bear picnic.
Aistear for the February month we explored the Restaurant, Pizza Parlour, Kichten, Shop and Small World.

Happy Grandparents Day
We had a lovely day with our grandparents on the 31st of January. The boys decorated the  buns we made the day before and made some lovely cards and pictures of their grandparents.

We love science in room 3. Here are two of our experiments we examined recently: Light and Sound.

Picture
Exploring the vibrations sound makes with beads and a drum, when we struck the drum the beads danced around. We used cups and string to make our very own telephones.
Our light experiment. Half the class believed that we would not be able to see the fruit in the dark where as the other half thought you would be able to see the fruit after your eyes adjusted. We put this to the test in our makeshift dark room. The boys quickly realised you can not see a thing, not even your own hand, when there is no light.

SNOW!!!!

3D Shapes
3D shapes are fat not flat. A cone is like a party hat. A sphere is like a bouncy ball. A prism is like a building tall. A cylinder is like a can of pop. A cube is like the dice you drop. 3D shapes are here and there. 3D shapes are everywhere!

January we explored the theme of PUPPETS in Aistear. The boys performed some great shows for the class.

We like to keep active in our classroom. When we feel tired we put on a great GoNoodle video to activate our brains and our bodies. You can use it at home too:

Christmas Aistear we looked at the post office. The boys sent letters and postcards to their elves and to Santa Claus.

Christmas Art with our parents :) We made some lovely snowmen to hang on our Christmas tree.

We really enjoyed performing our Christmas Nativity play. A big thank you to all the parents. We looked fantastic!

Happy Halloween. BOO!

Maths Week + - x ÷

This month we are exploring the theme of school in Aistear. The boys are sharing their knowledge with our cuddly friends, working hard in Muriel's and Mr O'Shea's office, building our school and drawing pictures of all the people who work in our school.
