Welcome to Third Class!
Grandparents Day 2018
As a part of Catholic School's Week, the children's grandparents were invited in to the classroom today. All the boys did a small presentation about their grandparent, and presented them with a certificate. We had a lovely day and it was so nice to see so many friendly faces in the classroom :)
Using iPads in Class
We often use iPads in class to help us with our learning. We like to use them to play maths games, to help us learn our times tables. You can download many apps from the App Store to help with this.
Here, the boys are using the iPads to research Ancient Greece.

Christmas in Room 10
The boys have been working very hard getting ready for Christmas. Between art and carol services, it's been a very busy few weeks!
Happy Halloween!
Today, the school dressed up for Halloween. Room 10 played some Halloween games and had a party. We also took part in some maths games for Maths Week 2017 (thank you to Ms. Keogh for organising it!).
Happy Halloween to all the boys and their families, and we will see you on Monday 3rd November!

Our Eggsperiment!
This week, we are investigating the effect of different drinks on our teeth. We are using eggs, as the egg shell is similar to the make up of our teeth. We poured a different drink over six eggs. The drinks we used are; water, orange dilute, coca-cola, diet coca-cola, orange juice and Lucozade. We will check them each day, and on Friday we will see the final result!
24 Hours
Here is what each egg looked like after being left in the liquid for 24 hours.
48 Hours
Today we brushed the eggs with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Some of the eggs are looking pretty horrible!!
72 Hours
Here are the eggs today.
96 Hours
Today was the last day of our experiment. We checked the eggs again to see the impact of the different drinks. We were shocked by the impact of the orange dilute. We decided that water is vest for our teeth.
By brushing parts of the egg, we saw the importance of brushing our teeth as the shell did not break down as quickly in these parts.

2-D Shapes
We are learning about 2-D shapes. We went outside to find shapes in our environment.
The boys in third class have been working very hard so far this year. Have a look!
