The boys had great fun helping to decorate the Christmas tree in our classroom.
Playdough Disco
We really enjoy having a playdough disco in room 2! It is a fun activity which combines the use of playdough with a series of hand and finger exercises designed to improve fine muscle control. The movements develop children's fine and gross motor dexterity, hand-eye coordination and self-esteem.
The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf
We enjoyed reading the story of the Three Little Pigs. The three little pigs is a fairly tale about 3 little pigs who each build new homes before being visited by the Big Bad Wolf. One pig takes the easiest way and builds a house out of straw. The second pig also chooses an easy way and builds his house out of sticks. The third little pig builds a strong house out of bricks. We had to guess which house we thought would be the safest and strongest. We guessed right, the house made out of bricks was not blown down by the wolf!
Fine Motor Skill Development
The boys in Junior Infants have been working so hard at developing their fine motor skills! We complete different activities every day to strengthen our fingers.
Halloween
We loved decorating our classroom for Halloween. We had so much fun making pumpkins using brocolli and paint. Our favourite day in school so far was dressing up and having a party. Teacher was so impressed with all of our costumes!!
Autumn
We learned that red, yellow, orange and brown are the colors of the leaves before they fall to the ground. Autumn is one of the four seasons of the year and is the time of year that transitions summer into winter. Along with the tree leaves changing color, the temperature grows colder, plants stop making food, animals prepare for the long months ahead, and the daylight starts growing shorter. We made Autumn leaves for our trees using our fingertips and orange, yellow and red paint!
